The Commodity Manager is responsible planning the flow of raw materials and services from suppliers on time and to the materials budget. This includes working with others to plan and implement the best appropriate actions to ensure customer satisfaction, and to manage supplier relationships for maximum benefit to the company.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensures that raw materials and other items are purchased as required and that vendor relationships are developed which satisfy company performance needs.
2. Develop supplier source database.
3. Constantly strive for reduction in material costs while ensuring the maintenance of highest levels of quality, reliability and service.
4. Ensures that all customer needs are satisfied through effective acquisition and utilization of raw materials and production resources.
5. Communicates with all areas of the company the status of existing and planned purchases and constantly updates schedules to account for changing needs.
6. Implements full utilization of MRP system from Product Development to product shipments.
7. Supports and maintains the operating system and its master files and databases.

Candidate should have a minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in a manufacturing operation. A Bachelors degree and APICS, CPIM, or CPM certification are required. MRPII experience is essential.

Textile Technologist

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

The Textile Technologist is responsible planning the flow of raw materials from suppliers, through the production process, and dispositions finished materials on time and under budget. This includes working with others to plan and implement the best appropriate actions to ensure customer satisfaction, and to manage supplier relationships for maximum benefit to the company.

Also responsible for the technical development of new fabrics, products, and processes to meet customer needs. Interface with suppliers to develop and identify specifications for raw materials for new product development. Provide internal and external technical support.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensures that raw materials and other items are purchased as required and that vendor relationships are developed which satisfy company performance needs.
2. Constantly strive for reduction in material costs while ensuring the maintenance of highest levels of quality, reliability and service.
3. Ensures that all customer needs are satisfied through effective acquisition and utilization of raw materials and production resources.
4. Implements full utilization of MRP system from Product Development to product shipments.

6. Develop technical understanding of fiber, fabric, weaving and finishing technologies and how they interact and relate to the company's process and final fabric properties.
7. Lead technical development of new fiber, fabric, weaving and finishing technologies to develop new or modify existing products.
8. Perform as technical interface with suppliers to ensure proper communication and development of our raw material requirements and assure compliance to these requirements.
9. Develop and maintain relationships with product development counterparts at suppliers and customers to assist R&D in coordination and communication during the development process.
10. Researching new materials and technologies to define and develop fabrics, products, and processes for existing or new markets.
11. Lead technical development and identification of the company�s key raw material requirements and key processing parameters. Identification of materials sources for specific products.
12. Lead or participate in team efforts across functions to commercialize new and improved products.
13. Provide technical expertise to solve internal technical issues.
14. Development or modification of new test methods.
15. Special projects as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

B.S. degree in a textile science discipline (textiles, chemistry, engineering, or equivalent) with knowledge of textiles and textile testing procedures. Minimum 7 years experience in a manufacturing operation. Experience developing textile specifications and working with R&D and/or designers in the product development process is preferred. Excellent technical expertise, critical decision making and problem solving capabilities are required. APICS certification required. MRPII experience is essential. Superior interpersonal skills, team player orientation, and entrepreneurial mindset required. Individual must be highly motivated and a self-starter.
