Product Development Engineer

As a key liaison amongst R&D, Manufacturing, and the Customer, the Product Development Engineer has the critical challenge of pioneering, developing, and introducing to market new cutting edge solutions which has been the company's recipe for success.

The ideal candidate will identify and quantify product development issues as perceived from marketing, quality assurance, logistics, manufacturing or the customer. Coordinate testing with material vendors or the manufacturing plant to isolate the problem and identify potential solutions. Assist the manufacturing operation in problem solving with regards to materials, process, equipment and systems. Resolve quality and technical issues related to product design. Responsible for addressing corrective actions associated with product design, support of new product introductions, validations and evolutionary product improvement. Rewrite specifications and/or procedures as needed.

A BS degree in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Material Science or equivalent with a minimum of 2-5 years experience in product development, preferably in the textile or polymer industry. DOE and SPC experience is desired. Familiarity with Stage-GateŽ or PACEŽ product development processes a plus. Occasional national and international travels to manufacturing facilities, trade shows, and consultants.
